After obtaining the coin, parents can help their children look up information on the country from which it came and the history surrounding it. Older children are often quite excited to do this on their own.
Another reason collecting heritage coins is popular is that it doesn’t have to be very expensive. Focusing on coins that are in circulation is much less costly than collecting coins from a certain time period, or rare coins.
